Acequia Madre Oasis

Aspen, evergreens and variegated dogwood frame the entrance to this property.  The first view of the private outdoor area is of a beautiful pond with vertical elements of iris and reeds.  Water flows into the pond over handsome rock slabs.  The "Mother Ditch" stream runs through the expanse of lawn, secluded by wall, fence and trees.  Apache plume, hollyhocks and roses edge the lawn as it winds around the house to an outside BBQ kitchen with stone slab counter and kiva fireplace. The portal area, with rustic tables, arm chairs and planters, is made for relaxation and enjoyment of the cool lawn. A large, venerable apricot tree grows next to and through the portal roof.  Inside, chisel-edged sandstone counters, pegged oak floors and stamped tin ceiling in the dining room juxtapose texture and tone.  Spanish Colonial and French antique furnishings  are very much at home in this house.  Spacious fireplaces and carefully-chosen textiles, paintings and photography complete the warm and beautiful interior.
